Sr. Director HRIS & Compensation
Shana Scales is the Sr. Director of Compensation and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she transforms human capital business processes to promote a high performing culture. She is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the organization’s compensation programs. In this role she also has oversight and management of HR technology that is used to ensure functional operation of people processes, data integrity, maintenance and training. Shana Scales is originally from Helena, Arkansas and has worked in corporate human resource and finance roles for major Fortune 500 companies such as International Paper and AutoZone coupled with years of experience at one of the largest healthcare systems in the Mid-South, Baptist Memorial Health Care along with Regional One Health. She was a finalist in 2006 as SHRM Memphis’s Emerging Leader of the Year. She is a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where she obtained her degree in Finance. Afterwards, she obtained a graduate degree in Human Resource Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
