The University of Arkansas System adopted a paid parental leave policy that UAMS is implementing effective September 1, 2024.
Who is eligible?
The UA System Board policy 420.2 states that eligible workers:
- have been employed by UAMS or a campus, unit, or division of the UA System for at minimum of 24 continuous months in a benefit eligible position (a regular position with an FTE of 50% or more)
- have been approved for FMLA leave for a period encompassing the date of birth of the child
- are the birth parent, legal spouse of the birth parent, an adoptive parent, or a foster parent
