Who is Eligible?
The University of Arkansas System Board policy 420.2 states that eligible workers:
- have been employed by UAMS or a campus, unit, or division of the University of Arkansas System for a minimum of 24 continuous months in a benefit-eligible position (a regular position with an FTE of 50% or more) on the child’s date of birth / placement date.
- have been approved for FMLA leave for a period encompassing the date of birth or placement of the child
- are the birth parent, legal spouse of the birth parent, an adoptive parent, or a foster parent
Note: UAMS Residents/Fellows must follow the UAMS College of Medicine GMEC policy 2.200 Leave for Residents and Fellows, excluding them from this paid parental leave benefit.
