Hiring Process:
This refers to the series of steps and activities involved prior to orientation or onboarding. It includes everything from applying for a position, attending interviews, and receiving a job offer, to completing necessary paperwork and getting ready for your first day.
Pre-Orientation:
Pre-Orientation is the phase before your official Orientation Day. During this time, you may receive important information and instructions from DPC (HR) or your future team to help you prepare for your orientation day. This could include details about what to expect, what to bring on your first day, and any initial paperwork that needs to be completed.
Orientation Day:
This is your first official day as a new employee. Orientation Day is designed to familiarize you with the company, its culture, policies, and key resources. You may attend various sessions, meet your team members, and get an overview of your role and responsibilities.
Onboarding:
Onboarding is the broader process that extends beyond Orientation Day. It encompasses your entire journey as you integrate into the organization. Onboarding helps you acclimate to your role, understand the company’s values, culture, and expectations, and establish positive working relationships with colleagues. It may involve training, mentorship, and ongoing support to help you succeed in your new position.

What is the dress code for the workplace?
Our dress code varies from department to department. If you have not received specific instructions from your Hiring Manager and/or Recruiter please wear business casual. Link Here

How do I access the company’s intranet and email?
You will receive login credentials and instructions from your Hiring Manager and/or Recruiter. IT support will be available to assist you with any login issues after you get started.
How do I set up direct deposit for my salary?
You can find the necessary forms in workday.
Are there any training programs available for professional development?

How do I request time off or vacation days?
Time-off varies from department to department. Your manager’s approval will be required. Please discuss this with your Hiring Manager and/or Recruiter.

How often are performance evaluations conducted?
New Employees will complete a 90-day Evaluation. Additionally, performance evaluations are conducted annually to provide feedback and discuss your professional growth. You can find more information by clicking here
How do I get a company ID badge?
Your Hiring Manager will assist your process of obtaining a badge and hang tags. Any credentials MUST be added to your Workday profile before receiving a badge. Credentials are optional. ID Badges are issued through the UAMS Badge Office on the 3rd floor of the Central building. Upon I-9 completion and Hiring Manager approval. Visit during office hours to get yours. How do I sign up for employee events or team-building activities?

What are the safety protocols in case of an emergency?
Familiarize yourself with the emergency evacuation plan and first-aid stations. Your manager will conduct safety training as well. Explore more here

We welcome your feedback! You can provide suggestions through the feedback form that has been sent to your email the day following Orientation Day completion. If you have not received this survey form, please check the email account you used for the attendance form on Orientation Day. What are the expectations for my performance during the probationary period?
Your manager will provide performance expectations and conduct regular check-ins during the probationary period.
How do I report workplace incidents or harassment?
Our company takes workplace incidents and harassment seriously. Report such incidents to your manager or the Employee Relations department immediately.
Office hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Where do I get a UAMS T-shirt?
UAMS Creative Services is located on Level B of Education Building II on the Little Rock campus. Click Here. It is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and open for T-Shirt Sales Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dress code defined in UAMS Administrative Guide 4.4.21 allows T-shirts to be worn as part of business attire, as long as they are designed or approved by UAMS Communications & Marketing. The T-shirt designs included on this page are those that have been designed by UAMS Communications & Marketing. T-shirts are sold in Creative Services on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Note that other affiliated locations may have their own standards.
